SCS ARE PROUD TO SPONSOR LOCAL TALENT SAMUEL ROBINSON
A note from Samuel Robinson;
My name is Samuel Robinson and I am sixteen years old. I live in Knighton in Leicester and am currently studying for my A Levels at Guthlaxton College.
Since the age of 4 I have attended Dancing lessons at Pirouette Academy of Dance and at the beginning of this year I was selected to join a dance company called Tap Attack. Tap Attack is a Tap training company that selects people from across the UK to either attend monthly training or two weekly training as either an associate or a company member, I was extremely lucky to be selected to be part of the Company and train two weekly in Reading. In May the company were invited to audition to compete at the Tap Dance World championships in Germany in December, I worked really hard and was successfully selected to go to Germany with the England Tap team. Since this selection training has increased to every Sunday in Reading and occasionally for whole weekends in Swindon.
I feel extremely privileged to have this opportunity and I cannot wait to go and try and win a medal for England. Unfortunately in England at the moment there is no financing to support the team and everyone is responsible for financing themselves. The reason I am writing to you is to ask whether you would consider offering any form of sponsorship towards my training or trip to Germany.
Obviously the greatest expense my family has to find is the travel costs, both in travelling to training in Reading and the trip to Germany..
Weekly my mum drives me to Reading and pays £25 a week for training sessions in Reading, residential weekends training costs £60, and the trip to Germany is going to cost £25,000 for the whole team plus food whilst we are away… We as a team have so far organised a dinner dance event with auctions, bag packing in supermarkets across the country and smaller scale sponsored events. I individually when I have time teach younger children to help to finance myself and was lucky enough to receive £200 from a company called Freed in Leicester who make dance shoes. But I am still seeking as much help as possible to get myself to Germany.
I am hoping over the next year to attend auditions in London for Dance colleges with the hope that everyone will come and see me in the West End dancing in Musicals when I grow up.
